I'm looking to purchase some teenage bantam hens to add to my flock for the winter. I would be intrested in any fancy breeds.
I was hoping to attend the poultry fest but, we live in Oakland County and it's really too far. Anybody around my area willing to sell a few bantam hens hatched this past...
Hi fellow Michiganders,
I have two bantam roosters looking for a new home: a red/brown Cochin rooster and a black frizzle rooster both about 4 months old. We live in a neighborhood and can't keep a rooster. They are both beautifully feathered and very tame. They would make a wonderful addition...
Yep, that would help. But you could also give hand feed her a meal or two a day and she would probably do fine. Yes, you'll have to change out the mash regularly to keep it from spoiling. Good luck with her, I hope her beak grows quickly!

It sounds like you are really trying. I'm not really familiar with worming products and chickens. You could call a local vet to do a fecal sample and look for parasites. Even if they don't normally treat birds a knowledgeable technician would be able to identify if parasites were present. As for...
Sometimes it helps to take a sick hen outside in the garden and dig up a few worms. Also, try taking her by the other hens to eat. Maybe if she can see the other hens eating, she will too. Did you try feeding her bread? My chickens usually go crazy for pieces of bread out of my hand. Glad she is...
