I currently have 6 hens that I got last year and 8 "babies", 2 of the "babies" are cockerels and the rest are pullets. One of my roosters is a maran rooster and he is the one we identified first as a cockerel. He sort of struts around and is more out there than our other cockerel, he is an...
I got 8 chicks (2 marans 4 easter eggers, and 2 Rhode Island reds) and I know some easter eggers can be rumples but one of my marans and one of my EEs (eater eggers) aren't developing a tail like the others I also got mine 90% but I'm always thinking maybe I got some of the 10%. I mean someone...
I know Meyer Hatchery has some but I don't know if they're sold out, they are located in Polk, Ohio. I don't know where else they are sold, but I hope this helps.
Hi, I am planning of getting a new incubator to hatch some chicks to sell this spring. I have 4 Easter egger hens and one roo and am planning on hatching some EEs to sell and getting a couple EE mixes as well for my personal flock. I'm going to get about 15 eggs in the incubator weekly, hoping...

I've had chickens for a little while now and I've always had hay in my nesting boxes (because I have horses I can just use hay not straw). But I was wondering what everybody else uses or if there was a better option? Any opinions on this?
This hasn't happened to me yet, but one of my friends have some chickens that still aren't laying. Maybe they aren't getting enough protein? I'm not sure.:idunno:hmm
I have a coop with a slide out pan, and I hate it! we put quite a bit of bedding in because we too live in New England to make it a bit warmer for the girls. I just can't get the pan out. That's why I am building anew coop this spring and I am going to have a large walk in doorway, so I can...
I would have him but I live in MA, literally the other side of the country. Good luck finding him a good home! I hope his new family loves him just as much I can see you do!
