    Cockerels or pullets?

    Hey everybody, was wondering if these are both cockerels, I’m 99% sure the first one pictured is but I was leaning towards pullet on the second one. There both EE/golden comets that my hen hatched. There almost 11 weeks old today.

    11 week old slw, roo or hen?

    Purchased straight run hoping to get a rooster to replace the one I lost. Was thinking more in the line of 50/50. Plan is to get rid of all but two of them. I’m gonna try to keep a bantam and a EE for my 12 hens.

    I’d say it’s too early to be sure. That comb is awful developed for a 4 week old though.

    Yea it’s crazy, people panic buying chicks because they think eggs are gonna run out. Have a sneaky suspicion there’s gonna be a lot of chickens on Craigslist in the next few months....

    Funny. I also purchased 10 EE chicks. We are fairly sure 8 of them are boys. Trying to find homes for 10 cockerels now....

    They are. Unfortunately 3 of the 4 turned out to be boys. I’m hoping to keep one with another rooster so the hen has a buddy. We’ll see how it goes. 🤞
