How often do turkeys lay eggs? I have read from one source that they lay 1 egg a day, while from another that they lay 2 eggs a week. My hens are about a year old and I expect them to start laying this spring.
Could someone give me the right information?
I'd like to know what are some basic rules when it comes to keeping ducks and chickens in the same flock. I have 4 Pekins (two are 3 months old and the other two are 2 months), 4 Mallards (a month old) and about 20 chickens (I'll slaughter some soon). They all go along well. I keep them all...
Thanks everyone for your advice! If I want a vet to diagnose what do I do? Send one? I also have 8 ducks in my flock. The only water my flock has are two tires and a boiler (where ducks bathe) which are cut in half and a larger bowl.
Also, can someone please explain to me what liming means? I...
Only 2 chickens died this month (another felt uneasy, got its face pale but that one was laying on her eggs a bit longer, though it occurred before). Like I said most of them lay every day, the only problem is that there is zero grass (the yard is huge) so I think their foraging is enough. They...
I want them to be as organic as possible. I thought what I fed them was great though I don't know if maybe I should give more? I always thought their food quality was fine.
I'm not sure what else new to feed them. Most of them laid every day though they paused now. They love the bread meal and...
Well I have always kept them in one small abandoned house which is like 100 years old (shh...) and I don't really know if there surely is coccidia in it. Other than that I can only keep them in an enclosed pig sty which I don't use. As for the yard there's nothing I can do.
What do you mean by...
I'm from Serbia. The yard has absolutely no grass (it's like a wasteland). I do give them grinded corn, grass which I cut and bread mixed with my after-meal remains, in fat, 3 or 4 times a day. I have plenty of them now and I'll slaughter some soon (I think I have 20). They sometimes don't eat...
I lost a bunch of chicks this month and I'm starting to get worried. Only their wings grow and they become lethargic. It has happened before but this month sucked.
Only 3 out of 11 dorkings are healthy and we got the eggs from a store. The broiler doesn't seem right (I have 8 of them...
