    Thank you for the info. I am new and appreciate any advice. I'll look into my local groups. I just don't want somebody to get them, just to eat them.

    I have 2 beautiful sapphire gem roosters that are 11 weeks old. They are very good making sure the hens are put to bed before going to bed. Just started to crow and I live in town. Central Illinois. Rantoul to be specific.

    One has, the other one has a croaky call, but on the way.

    Thanks. I live in zone 5. We get a few days with negative wind chills and single degree weather. Mostly in the 20's.

    Thanks a lot. There is one with a different comb. It sticks out and always has, but it is still light pink. Also, the lacing is starting to be more prominent.

    I am a new chicken owner. Have 2 sapphire gems I'm pretty sure are roos. Also have 7 goldlace wyandottes. I've been told all hens, but would like other opinions. They are 11 weeks old.
