    Second egg today! - it’s squishy.

    The shell acts as a barrier and protects against bacteria, so I wouldn't. Sometimes people feed them to their dogs/other animals, though.

    How old are they? It’s hard to tell from this angle, but I think the furthest to the right is a cockerel.

    Yep, I just moved it out of the road and into the nearest bush. All the trees/bushes were within twenty feet of each other, so if I picked the wrong one (I couldn't see any nests) it shouldn't be too far away.     More EE chicks any roos? I bought 5 at a young age and used a method to determine the genders i shot for 2 just in case one wasn't a roo.

    I also think they're pullets. :)

    Yes, we have goldfinches in the area. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the parents are coming back because I was driving in a different neighborhood when I found it.

    I found this little fledgling in the middle of the road today (just a residential culdesac, so there were trees on either side that he came out of.) He wasn’t injured, and he was able to fly short distances, but there were also some curious kids messing around with him. I put him in a bush away...

    I... I thought the photo of the wax egg was a baked potato. I think little Squash (that’s his name now, I don’t make the rules😉) will be just fine.

    None of them are pipped, correct? I might see if the ducks will let you candle them and see if you can see anything- movement, live/not, internal pips, etc. Feel free to post pics before you toss anything unless you’re positive they’re dead.
