On a brighter note I listed my 2 cockerels on craigslist and I sent them to their new home just a little bit ago, they'll get to free-range on 25 acres.

Well, anybody near the Albany, NY area want these 2 guys? If I had more land and less neighbors I'd keep them but I don't so they need to go.

Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I've posted. The other morning I heard some crowing from my hens. The culprit wouldn't do it in front of me until 2 days ago. I've read that some hens will crow but I'm concerned it might be a rooster. Here's a few pics... (pic taken at 11 weeks old...

Well we took the chicks outside today for some yard time, we set up the run and let them hang out with each other. After a few minutes of the RIR's pecking at the Auracana's as well as jumping on them everything settled down and they started getting along great. They even cuddled up together...
