    Duck with injured leg

Our duck hurt her leg a couple months back. We took her to the vet and we’re told she had an Infection. She took the whole round of antibiotics and seemed to be better but it has now gotten progressively worse. Her entire left leg is twisted to the side and she is using her right leg turned in...

    First egg!

We found our first egg in our ducks’ pool this afternoon! It’s a weird shell-less one. What can we do to help her gain some shells? She has oyster shell and meal worms every day. Anything else we can do?

    Ducks Not Laying

Do you know how long we should expect them to be on “strike”?

    Ducks Not Laying

We got 2 older hens from some people about 2-3 weeks ago. They are a Cayuga and Runner. We added them to our flock while we were rearranging/ giving away some of our males. Despite being around 3 years old, they haven’t laid a single egg yet. One of them was sitting on her eggs for about 30 days...

    Depressed drakes?

Do they need to worry about the drakes getting depressed? I’ve had them a couple months and they’re generally very happy little guys

    Depressed drakes?

We’re trying to get rid of some drakes we have, (got them with ducklings and ended up with too many, 🤦🏼‍♀️). someone messaged us interested in adopting them as pets, but said he had heard that drakes without a female will get depressed and die. Is that true? Or is it possible to have an all...

    New duck parents

Hi! My name is Emily and my husband Tyler and I are newly married and decided to jump head first into raising... ducks. (Much to the dismay of my parents who prefer less feathery grandchildren 😂) We have 4 female ducks, and ended up with 3 drakes also, who we probably won’t keep at this time...

    Adopted Duck Sitting on Eggs

So we adopted a Cayuga who had been sitting in her eggs for 30 days. Her previous owner Said her eggs were bad and probably weren’t going to hatch. We’ve only had her for a few hours but I’m wondering if she will be able to recover. Will she lay eggs again?
