Depressed drakes?

We’re trying to get rid of some drakes we have, (got them with ducklings and ended up with too many, ).
someone messaged us interested in adopting them as pets, but said he had heard that drakes without a female will get depressed and die. Is that true? Or is it possible to have an all drake flock as backyard pets?

Do they need to worry about the drakes getting depressed? I’ve had them a couple months and they’re generally very happy little guys

i had an all drake flock, and it worked out great at first. i honestly feel like it could’ve been great forever. but then one of them got attacked by an animal, and then they wouldn’t accept him back into the flock. the other 3 were fine, but we got two straight run who ended up being girls, and after the girls got bigger they started to fight. one passed away, two got rehomed, and now we are left with one drake

edit - they didn’t kill him, he passed away due to an animal attack while he was at the petsitters house

They will not die, you probably shouldn’t keep a single duck, but if they have each other they should be happy. Mine don’t seem depressed, they’re quite happy to forage and fight through the fences. I do have 2 girls on site, they live with their respective bf’s. That may change next year when hormones on the ducklings kick in.
One advantage of drakes is the noise! My girls can make quite a ruckus! One neighbor has said she likes their sounds, and nobody’s complained yet.
