    Rob I like your idea. I actually just started duckweed today finally found a supplier here in Tucson. Was a little pricy but if it goes as planned will be worth it.

    Ok, I will play it safe and just toss it out and give him some of my mealworms to start over. Better safe than sorry.

    Okay here is a picture of my sons beetles with a picture of one if mine. The size is incredibly different. Any ideas on what they might be or like I was told earlier just smaller mealworms adults?

    apart, yes I do feed mealworms. subhanalah, that's what I was thinking but they look a lot smaller than the beetles I get in my mealworms bin.

    I hear everyone talking about mites. I checked on my sons system that he keeps for his lizard and saw an infestation of tiny beetles not sure what the are or the easiest way to get rid of them. I was going to dump the bin to my chickens and have him start over. Any advice would be thankful.

    There is a lot of different methods. People will not feed them for a few day and then drop a carrot or apple piece in there and sake of what is gathered on there after fifteen minutes. Others just wait till they grow big enough to be able to pick out by hand. The options is yours.
