To first put it in the water for everyone because I figured it would spread to all of them. It didn’t seem to be helping any so I finished out the 5 days and stopped. Then I spoke with my vet who is the only one around me who has any experience at all with poultry and she said to try the baytril...
You are amazing, thank you so much for the advice. They definitely are not getting worse so And no bubbles or rattling sounds so I’m thinking it’s not MG. Farmer friend does not have chickens so no issues with biosecurity. Also- it’s been sunny so they’ve been free ranging in the sun and seem...
Hi everyone, I am hoping for some
Advice. My 4 silkes are 15 weeks old and this is my first time raising chickens so there’s a lot of trial and error happening lol. So, we went out of town for Thanksgiving, and of course the night we left it rained for the first time since they’ve been outside...
I’m having a hard time believing the white one is a hen but we shall see! Lol
I sent it to IQBirdtesting I think that was the name. Not sure how reliable these places are! It was only like $12 a chicken and since I only have 4 I figured why not?!
Oh my gosh you guys... so I couldn’t wait and I had their feathers tested for gender. Mostly because I was secretly hoping for all boys so I could get more babies ....But that was not the case... they’re all hens! Very excited! And I will get more babies now just for fun lol
Fern (almost positive a roo) Indigo Izzy Kate all of them together refusing to smile for the camera lol Hi everyone! I am a first time silkie mom and I have 4 babies that are 9 weeks old today. I have been staring at them for the last week trying to decide who may be what and I wanted to get...

It’s a cockerel?! How do you know? Everyone says it’s close to impossible to know with silkies! Thank you for your advice... gotta just keep reminding myself this is nature and the circle of life. Certainly without human help this one would have starved to death on its own. But especially when...
My little girl has some serious scissor beak. She is a silkie and just shy of 6 weeks. She is half the size of her sisters... pretty much literally. I weighed one tonight that was over 7 oz and she’s only 3.5 oz. She is constantly eating because it’s so much harder for her to get any food, but I...
Oh shoot I don’t know about the Marek’s, these are my first chickens so I don’t have to worry about exposing any others. Okay so I have a question about the scissor beak... my little girl is pretty bad. She is a silkie and just shy of 6 weeks. She is half the size of her sisters... pretty much...
Well that one little chick passed away but the rest are healthy and happy (knock wood). We have one that has a deformity called scissor beak but she’s fine just has a harder time eating so she’s growing a bit slower than the rest. So... I think they Feather lover Farms is sucky quality...
So I hung out with her a lot today and syringe fed her some coconut oil and some probiotic/electrolyte water and massaged and massaged. It went down SO much! It got down to just basically a droopy sack feeling thing and not firm anymore. She pooped a bunch and it the crop still feels more...
Sounds awesome. I can’t thank you enough for your time and help!!! I will keep you updated on our progress! Really Hoping to save this little one she’s a sweetheart!
Yea she is pooping and it looks normal. Vent is clear. They are in the bottom of a chicken coop so they have a lot of room. The warming pads are just at one end so they are cool/room temp most of the time while eating and pecking around, etc. no I totally don’t need to give scrambled eggs I just...
