I just hatched my first two Sebastopol goslings. I'm excited and think they are beautiful. I'm wondering if any of you with goose experience have any thoughts about what sex these two look like they might be. The mostly grey one is much smaller than the grey and yellow one. And the grey and...
I just hatched my first peacock this morning. Only one of the two peacock eggs made it so I will only have one peacock for at least a few weeks. I have 7 chickens that hatched earlier this week. Can I keep the baby peacock with the chicks? It seems like there are several different schools of...
I'm not sure if that is angel wing or not, but there are lots of very nice experienced folks on this site that will help you. I just taped the wings of two of my geese who had angel wings. The tape is really helping correct the problem.
If it is angel wing, this video shows exactly how to...
We wrapped the wings of both geese. We had to take the wrap off of the goose on the left (Spence) early because he cut his leg and we needed to make sure he wasn't injured in any other way. But we left the wrap on the goose on the right (Kate) for a week and her wing is much better. We are...
I hatched the geese for a nearby farm. I'm not sure what they are feeding them right now. I'm reading articles on taping the wings for a few days to help correct the problem. What kind of tape do you use? Does it bother the birds?

Great! Now I have a question, did you use your auto turner or did you hand turn thru the incubation? If you used the auto turner, what angle setting did you use?
I had turned the goose and duck eggs. I only use my auto turner for chickens.
One of my Chinese Swan Geese hatched this morning! That's a Cayuga duck egg next to her. The duck is also working on hatching. Will post a few more pics when everyone is fluffy. I'l like for this to be my entry into the April Hatch Along.

Nicky - Do you believe that it's better for the eggs to be on their sides? I've hatched chickens pointy side down and they hatched pretty easily. But, I haven't tried it with geese or ducks.
yes most waterfowl recomendations are for eggs to be on side and hand turned and odd number...
