Thank you very much! I have her in a small crate so that she has to lay down for now. I am going to go but something for wrapping now. Do you think I should cut that toenail or leave it like that?
I have this hen with an injury to her nail, the nail is bent to the side. She doesn't want to walk on it and when she does I can tell she is in pain. The foot looks healthy except for some swelling of that toe. I removed her and have her in a dog crate in the garage right now. Can anyone give...
Sorry I am trying to respond on my phone lol. Thank you so much for the info! I did a google search for feed mills and neither of these came up, I am calling today!
Try calling the feed mill in New Bethlehem. I think they are Redbank Valley Mills. They may do custom mixes but you would probably have to buy in bulk. There is another called Osterling's Feed Mill on 422 in area of Fennelton.... 724-283-1819. I haven't stopped there yet to check them out but...

I have 2 Delaware Pullets, I also have several other breeds. I am so in love with these Delawares though. They are so sweet and always the first to greet me but they are sassy too and don't put up with any nonsense from the other birds. I can't wait to add more to my flock!
This current flu that is going around is awful, my 3 year old is spiking fevers between 103.5-104.5. I medicate but it it spikes right back up when the meds wear off. Luckily she is eating well and drinking a ton.
I am not sure I have what it takes to have leghorns. I did read up on them and knew they would be flighty and a bit crazy but I guess they are just not for me and my calmer flock.
I have 3 white leghorn pullets about 11 weeks old, I have had them for several weeks. I have several other breeds but these leghorns are just too flighty for me. Anyone near Kittanning interested in them? I would love to find a new home for them with someone who likes and understand this breed.
Our neighbor spreads lime in his yard every year, he says it helps with bugs. We've never tried it so I didn't check out how safe it is for animals but he swears by it.
Thank you for clearing up the Manco n Mancos Pizza, the Mack n Manco is still there but closed and I couldn't figure out why the name difference. Their pizza is the best!
