Thank you!! She has been a great girl and a solid steady layer until she started getting sick. I was hoping she’d pull through whatever she has going on, but I’m afraid she’s not going to make it. 🥹
She does eat layer pellet feed. I’ve just been also feeding her egg, some yogurt and have also given her a probiotic and have apple cider vinegar in her water.
Same. I usually try everything to try and save/help my girls when any of them get sick, but she’s been this way for a week and not improving. I’ve tried multiple things and she’s just suffering. I’ve just got to figure out a humane way to put her down.
Thank you. I think I’m going to research humane ways to put her down. She’s been a good girl and I hate to have her continue to suffer. She’s not improving no matter what I try.
Could anyone tell me what might be wrong with my hen? I’ve had chickens for years and have never seen this. I’ve treated worms, sour crop and other random chicken ailments over the years, but can’t figure this one out. She’s wet in the video because I had just bathed her again. She’s been like...
Thank you for the response. I wormed her last week, shortly after I posted since I actually saw that worm. She seems to be doing great. Acting like her normal self. I haven’t seen any more of those membrane looking things since she passed that one in the pic.
Hi All -
I have an almost 3 yr old hen, until a couple of days ago was very healthy. I noticed her just laying down in the run yesterday morning, no obvious signs of illness. Nothing respiratory, eyes and beak clear, crown red (normal) no injury. Then noticed runny poop and she seemed sleepy...
I added a couple of videos that I took today, just for reference of the sound she’s making. Excuse the mess, I took video before I picked up her dirty “puppy” pads. And, she laid an egg today.
I took this video today just for additional reference of the sound she’s making and behavior. Excuse...
Thanks for the response! I haven't given any yeast meds - didn't know about those, so thanks!. I was giving them a little bit of greek yogurt to put good microbes back in them. I'll get some yeast meds and yes, I'm going to start giving them all probiotics.
I have a 2 yr old hen that has been making a weird coughing noise for about 3+ weeks, a little gurgle sound and shaking her head. Day 1 of hearing the sound, I separated her immediately from the flock and treated her initially with VetRx thinking respiratory, but 2 days later with no other...
Went to check on and lock up my chickies this evening as usual. All were roosting like normal, but one of my younger girls (23 weeks-I don’t think she’s laying yet) who was roosting with her butt facing out looked like she was pooping but it also looked like there was a tumor in her butt. Can...
