Thanks for the reply. I think I will let them out today and just keep an eye on them. It has been really hot these last few days, so didn't want them going too far from water. But cooled down today.
The cage is big enough for them all to roam and the chicks are now scratching around and moving...
It's 1.5 x 1.5m, deffinetly big enough for her to move around. I'm just worried if I let them out, she'll move back to her old nest, which the chicks won't be able to get to her then.
Deffinetly not cold, 41°C yesterday and 35°C today 😅
No rooster.

I have a hen who has been broody for nearly 4 weeks. I tried all my usual tactics to un-brood her, but she is particularly stubborn. As a last measure I put 3, day old chicks under her last night. She has successfully adopted them and is teaching them how to chook and being a good mother...
For the last week, since I have had her locked away separately, her diet has been banana, peas, spinach, sunflower seeds, pepitas, as well as pellets, just the standard layer pellets. I have given her a few cooked eggs as well.
Before I separated her she was free range, so her diet included bugs...
I have a year old Wyandotte who keeps falling over. When I stand her back up, she seems to be a little wobbly for the first step, but then fine. She walks around fine, but holds her tail and wings a little lower than usual. Sometime she walks for 5 minutes before falling to the side again...
