    Fowl pox or canker?

I'm in Indiana. What should I offer it 2-3 times a day?

    Fowl pox or canker?

Ok, thanks. We have some LA-200 liquamyacin, and some powdered tylan. Based on the link, my guess is the liquamyacin is a better option? Anything to look out for specifically for that secondary infection?

    Fowl pox or canker?

We got a new rooster from a friend. He was properly quarantined and just fine, so about 3 weeks ago we moved him in with his flock. We keep turkeys and chickens, so we have essentially four quadrants in our chicken pasture. The new rooster got in a big fight with a rooster in the next quadrant...

Sweet rooster with lingering limp; help please!

Ok. Thank you! If it is arthritis, how could we tell and what should we do? Yes, his hip is definitely fine. I originally thought it was his hip, but after feeling around under all of the feathers and studying a good chicken skeletal diagram, came to the conclusion that it was his knee not his...

Sweet rooster with lingering limp; help please!

How long do you think he needs to be in the sling? Do we need to keep him in it the whole day/night? I don't think the dislocation was present the whole time, but I don't know how long it was there before we noticed it. I was concerned we'd missed it and wouldn't be able to correct it, but it...

Sweet rooster with lingering limp; help please!

Hello! We have the sweetest rooster in the world named Lee. He is (normally) a fierce protector of his ladies, a gentleman when it comes to mating, always making sure the hens get the best treats, and gentle and friendly towards humans. About 5 months ago, we noticed Lee was limping pretty...

    Rooster with dislocated hip?

We've had him separated, and he isn't getting any better at all :(

    Rooster with dislocated hip?

We have the most amazing rooster that we love dearly, but he has gotten himself injured. We have a couple of different breeding flocks, and keep them separated by electric mesh fences, although we only run electric through the exterior fences. Two roosters got into a fight through the fence, and...

    Rooster breed?

Hi! I'm still trying to sort all of this out. I've figured out all of the breeds of chickens we have from a flock someone abandoned, and we took in. But I can't figure out what breed this rooster is. Any ideas?

Turkeys possibly attacked, no visible injuries, droopy and lethargic with closed eyes

Thank you so much @Finnie and @dawg53. I guess we'll just keep an eye on them and see what happens. No real change so far, but I guess it's good they aren't worse.

Turkeys possibly attacked, no visible injuries, droopy and lethargic with closed eyes

Hello all, We are first time turkey owners and have 8 heritage breed turkeys that are about 4 months old. We also have chickens, in case it matters. We keep them in electric netting that is regularly rotated on pasture. They have a tractor for food/water with roosts inside, plus a large...

What kind of rooster is this?

@Tonyroo This may be a dumb question, but I thought that the wyandottes were all laced? This rooster looks like it is a solid color?

What kind of rooster is this?

My friend found a random rooster wandering in the woods. The rooster was friendly, and obviously part of a backyard flock somewhere. He hasn't been able to figure out where the chicken came from, as he wasn't close to any houses at the time. He's asked me for help with identifying the rooster...

    Tractors and dust baths

I have some new chickens that I just put out in their tractor on the pasture a few days ago. I'm wondering if they need a dust bath in the tractor? We are moving them every day so they always have fresh grass. Are they able to get what they need? One of the chickens has scissor beak. She's doing...
