I'm so glad cooler weather is here. For where I live in Texas, that's anything below 90 degrees! I have lost some birds over the last year, hatched some birds, and am currently building a new coop. Couple that with my 3000sq.ft. of gardens, 2 dogs, 2 kids, full time job and being in school...

I tried hatching some Rhodebar eggs without any success. This isn't my first time incubating eggs, but I'm going to take a rest. I stay very frustrated at Austin USPS. If you want to test how well your eggs are packaged, send them thru Austin, TX. If they survive that, they'll survive...

This is Phyllis. She's a 16-week old Cuckoo Marans. She was one of three CM that hatched. The other two were definitely boys. I gave the two CM roos away to a friend. They started crowing around 10 weeks of age. Phyllis was dark and never had much of the Cuckoo barring, and was very quiet...

I'm no expert on gardening.... I get plastic rolls at Sherwin Williams. I think its .3mil. Not sure exactly. A little bit thicker, but its that milky white almost see-thru stuff. Fairly inexpensive. I'm near Austin, Tx and I start my gardens from seed. I usually start my seeds indoors...
