    Ducklings and incubators...

Hello, Just wondering what you think is a good ratio for eggs hatching in incubator. For example I just put 11 eggs in my incubator and day 28 was today. 10 out of 11 hatched. That's good but what is considered a bad hatch? Any incubators you DONT suggest using? YAY Silver Appleyards!

    Introducing Help

Just a quick update. I separated the two groups but noticed that there was absolutely no arguing at all so today I opened the gates and wished myself luck. . . There was no arguments. They even laid beside each other and all waddled into the barn as a group.

Don't introduce them at all? That's seems kind of weird. This newest Drake was just in a huge flock with plenty of males around.

What duck breed is most likely to go broody?

I just had my Welsh X go broody. No idea if she will stick but it's been two days and she's refusing to leave them. She has 7 under her and continues to lay.

    Choosing a breed

I love my Silver Appleyards but I think they are already sold out from the Metzer website (I didn't get mine there) I'd be interested in Cayugas next after my Saxonys

    Saxony Duck Thread!

Yeah I totally see it it's kind of like the males beaks head upwards in the centre and the females turn slightly downwards. It's very slight. But now that I see it I'm going to see if it's true for these guys and my newest batch when they finally hatch.
