Excessive nesting Leading to loss of feathers

Ok so I just read about broody chickens & this is definitely what I’m dealing with. She’s my most loving girl & about 8 months old. I’m not 100% certain how to manage it though with them all in the shed together I’d hate to take the nesting boxes completely out & eliminate them for the other girls.

Excessive nesting Leading to loss of feathers

So for the last few days I’ve noticed that one of my chickens has been spending an excessive amount of time in her nesting box. today I decided to make her go out so I picked her up out of the nesting box and I noticed that she was missing all her feathers on her belly. Im very new to children...

Not sure if you remember us but we’re in a bit of a pickle. After everything we went through the duck is once again completely paralyzed. But now even more concerning is her leg. I attached one picture of her good leg for size reference

Not sure if anyone remembers lame/paralyzed duck but here we are again. It’s been about three weeks since his 4 day stay at the exotics vet where they had to preform 3 different surgeries to remove the two sewing pins he swallowed. They were of the opinion that the possible zink toxins were what...

So three surgeries later because the first two that were meant to be less invasive didn’t work. The tool the we’re trying to use to grab the pins in her belly we’re just not long enough. They then explained to me that even if they were they wouldn’t have been able to remove them because they...

So I just received a call from the dr. They are about to start the surgery & wanted to warn me of the risk. They are going to try a less invasive approach initially but are worried that the tools they have are small enough to safely remove what ever in inside her. If not there is a more invasive...

So the vet apt is today, I found an exotics vet about an hr & a half from me that was willing for an additional fee of course to see her before December. All local vets wouldn’t take new customers until January. She’s alive & eating good still doing the 1ml of niacin a day & supervised swims...

So the leg doesn’t seem to be the issue, the earliest Vet apt. I could get was Monday but I found an exotics vet taking me clients about an hr and a half from where I live. I have to pay an additional urgent care fee to get in before December. I’ll let you all know what they say
