    we just found three eggs from our bourbon reds. it is only in the mid twenties at night. should we pick them up and hold them, or just leave them out there? any help will be appreciated. thank you.

    we have a tom and what i am hoping are two hens. any way we have been feeding them chicken layer mash. good thing /bad thing . have not seen any eggs yet. do we need to change feed? any help would be helpful.

    plump chicken, we are a csa and we charge 7.50 each bird. we pay 11.00 a bag for feed, from an amish feed mill. we process all on farm.

    it's not just 7 yr old boys who make chicken feet dance so do 58 yr olds. daughter and wife thought i had been in the sun too long lol, especially when they danced to rockin robin, dd couldn't get it out of her head, didn't help when i kept singing it.

    congrats, just one piece of advise, you might want to wait til tomorrow night, let the bird rest. we raise meat birds and let all of our customers to let them rest before eating, they may be tough.

    We sell as a CSA and in three years we have not had a problem. We get the full amount up front and this pays for the birds and feed. But we also have extra that does insure we cover our CSA members. We sell singles but they are higher priced, pay up front and you get a discount. Also as with a...

    How often do you eat chicken?

    we probably eat chicken 4 to 5 times a week. especially during the summer, on the grill. in winter 3 to 5 times in soup, stews, pot pies. our chicken, yummmmmm. we will be butchering again in june and august, maybe september. more chicks arrive wednesday or thursday.

    finished the 42 about 3 pm. that included lunch and clean up . our best time. 2.5 to 4.75 lbs.

    Schlecht hatchery has st. run cx for .95 ea plus shipping. we have some that just went out on pasture and they are doing quite well.

    The Problem I've Found With Cornish Cross.

    we must be doing something wrong, ours jump up on top of the tractor when opened to feed. yes they are dumb get under the cart when moving. we have gotten ours from a number of hatcheries.
