    I wouldn't be worried yet, that comb is still tiny and pale and the feather pattern is consistent.

    I think you have an "oops" Brahma! I have seen photos of one similar before that was buff Brahma X light Brahma :)

    I'm pretty certain that #1 isn't a d'anvers as they should have a rose comb, beard and muffs. Perhaps he is a black tailed buff Japanese?     The black chick I was referring to is in the photo above, has no white head spot, and is most definitely not a barred rock. Rhode island reds do not have white under feathers, those are red sex links.

    I'd agree. Your black chick could be an Australorp, Jersey giant, or black sex link. Australorp is probably most likely.
