Here are my babies yesterday just after they moved out of the incubator
and today, aged 1 day
We have 13 chicks still - the baby with a hernia is doing ok...
Quote:
don't say the 'B' word!!!
we're keeping them all anyway - might just have to have a gang of roosters!
I've got 10 hatched now, 2 pipped
one little baby has an umbilical hernia, but I'm doing my best for it
yep, just hatched - it's umbilical... seems a bit red to be just the yolk sack
I've got it on its own - should I be keeping it moist or let it dry out?
Today is day 21 & we have 4 hatched here and 1 zipping, 1 with a good sized hole and 2 with little pips!
and so far they all look different so I can tell them apart!
do I need to worry at all that these babies are rolling some of the other eggs over?
Great to see the photos of the cute fluffies!
I was going to stay late at work, but my o/h skyped to say that the babies were on thier way... so I rushed home to find that 4 have pipped and I can hear chirping
Good luck everyone!
mine are in lockdown now! I'm back at work tomorrow, not sure if I'll be able to cope with not knowing what's happening! at least day 21 for me is saturday, so I hope to see some hatch
as long as they hatch healthily I'll be happy though!
Is it ok if I join late? I've only just found the forum, but my eggs went in on 13th August
I'm using a Brinsea octagon 20 advance - this is my first time incubating... I've not candled along the way at all, I was too scared to be honest! I've tried to leave them alone as much as possible...
forgot to mention Oddyse - try posting on 'rescue helpers unite' and on 'reptile forums UK' (in the classifieds/domestic section)
both are very active and someone might be able to help...
I'm from the UK (London originally, but also lived in Swansea, Norfolk, Nottingham & Hastings) I did live in Long Island NY for a bit when I was little and I now live in Madrid Spain, we left the UK after most of the rest of my family moved to France!... so a bit all over the place!
