    Thanks for the reply aart -the eggs are real. The Girls already have nesting boxes attached to the Coop -with nestbox curtains for privacy(click on my signature/link below) Laying eggs in them has not been an issue -other than the occasional squabble over the "popular" nest boxes.     Our Girls have several nesting boxes built within the coop -but one started laying under the Coop -and it was Chicken See -Chicken Do! So, I fig'd maybe this will work! LOL

    The backyard hen keeping ordinance in Davidson County, Nashville, Tennessee passed last night (1/21/14) with no districts exempted!! The KenJi girls are celebrating! It's been a two year battle for our city! Power to the Peeps!!!!!!

    how often do i need to clean??

    I say do what's best for you and your flock ability. For us, three to four inches of sand on the coop floor -has worked wonderfully! We clean it every other day like a large litter box. Our girls are happy, healthy, clean and are still putting out more eggs than we can handle sometimes...
