As far as original question if it's a isa rooster. Which I dont think it is. He would have no issues breeding any of the hens. Would be no different than any ee roo or mutt crosses out there
If you can keep Male to female ratio at 1:6 or 1:8. Segeregate the rest of the males away from the other birds if you can. That should help with the crowing a lot. A happy Male quail with plenty of females wont crow much. The separated males that cant see females will rarely crow.
Looks like they are gonna potentially release a plan to reopen sections of the state for business by next week. There's is gonna be a sale this weekend. Maybe I'll find my brahma roo.
With the broody hens, a couple losses, and an injury, not getting many turkey eggs. Found some palm hens...
You can move her. Would be best after dark. Catch her and gather eggs move to secured pen. Put them in the nest housing and put her on top of them. She should take to them fine.
When my hens get determined they will try to hatch rocks.
I assume coturnix quail?
3:1 may alleviate some breeding stress. But some males are very amorous. I've had a Male where 2 or 3 hens were more than he wanted. But have had other males where 10 hens werent enough to satisfy him.
1:6 ratio is a better ratio to eliminate over breeding.
Just keep...
Not at a tsc but was at a farm store that just had gotten a shipment of chicks. Watched the store person put Easter egger pullets in a bin then take and put a box full of pan fry specials in the same bin. Told employee that that was a mistake that she mixed all roos with all hens with no...
Until their hormones start to come on about 16 to 20 weeks old, they should be fine together. If your wanting a tender frying chicken that is the time to butcher. If you want them to get older separate them into a bachelor pad away from the other birds. May have a squabble or 2 but mist times...
If you plan on keeping all the males yes. You can separate then spares into a cage away from the others.
Considering you are wanting roosters I assume you are wanting to hatch more quail?
If that's your plan you will run out of room for extra males quickly. Personally I would try and sell...
If you want best number if chicks buy chicks. Hatching any egg that is shipped a major gamble. Too many factors beyond your control. As far as incubators if you go that route depending on your budget get the best you can afford. Most of the time these are get what you pay for. For a tabletop...
If the homemade is still air 102 wouldn't hurt. They are still early in the process getting cool not as bad as you hot.
If the temp is correct on the incubator display you are at 100.4 f.
Give them a. Chance to are pretty resilient.
