I have been keeping these wonderful birds for several years and working at improving them. TO continue this work I need to find another family of RC RI Whites. So, if anyone knows where I might find some pretty good ones let me know.

I see this is an old thread but in case anyone might want real RC Rhode Island White large chickens, I will have some for sale this 2014 season. Not until late spring and they are very nice birds. Some of the big hatcheries advertise SC RI White but they are NOT recognized and are smaller birds...

I now own the Kelly Klober SC RI Whites, he spent some time improving them and kept only a trio of young birds to protect the line. I also bought out a yard of RC RI Ws here in Kansas. I just can not believe how hard it is to find new RC RI W blood. SC RI Ws are offered by many nurserys...
I have RC RI Whites also and really like them. Also have 2 families of SC RI W and NYREDS is right-on, they are not recognised by APA. Some confusion exists because APA Standard included the SC RI W in 1010 BUT that was an error on the part of APA.

Your' RC RI Ws look good. I just goy a start of them and am looking for other lines of them. Mine are Urch, do you know any history of the line of yours?

Cooked grain? I don't think a downside could exist and especially for free. If we had a brewery nearby I would visit them often. I have not used alcohol in years but do feed my birds a warm cooked mash every morning. We heat with wood and the cooking costs only a bit of time.
