Love the picture of the Salmon Faverolles at the top. If anyone is interested in learning more about them they should pop over to the faverolles thread. Lots of good breeders and information out there. There are more and more people working on these guys. They are an extremely challenging but rewarding breed to work with. I am just getting started back up with some stock from great lines after leaving from college. One of the best things about the faverolles breeders is everyone is very encouraging and will share stock willingly. But as I said before as a bearded, muffed, feather legged breed with its own unique body shape and in the salmon color breeding to standard is difficult. Hope I can drum up some interest for them though!

Love the looks of everyone Rocks and Reds on this thread. You all are doing great preserving these awesome american birds.

Are any of you familiar with APA judge Jim Adkins? I came across this website and it all sounded very interesting... until I got to the membership fee at the bottom of the page. Wow, I'm just a struggling farmer, sure can't afford that. The workshops are pricey also. The subject matter sounds great, though. I was wondering what you all think of it?

I came across that website before, too. $1,000. for a "coach" for "the first," year.
My opinion - Ridiculous, I don't care who it is. Not really workshops - "minimum of 4 farm visits per year."

I got to go to one a friend joined I couldn't believe anyone would pay that much....I wasn't impressed but for a "hobby farmer" who has no idea of what to do.... I'm sure in 3 years she'll have learned something just not what she thought she was paying for
