Thx for the sympothy and hugs it helps a little;: ) Have anyone of you heard of a duck eating a poisonious mushroom and dieing that suddenly?

All the other causes(bio-toxins,poison mushrooms,plants etc.etc. I've researched listed symptoms leading up to death. Hers only lasted within 10 seconds,she was doing business as normal before. Just never had one die of a major heart attack before my eyes. She was my best duck.

Well I guess I can rule out that she choked,didn;t find anything lodged. I'm almost positive she had a major heart attack now

Another thought is if the song birds can carry it? How can you keep them out of your livestock food? I can see it spreading fast.

Scary stuff! Just yesterday while hunting I was observing a flock of pintail leaving a field. One of the ducks dropped out of the flock like a rock. At first I thought someone had shot but there was no shot. I left, I think I am done hunting after wittnessing that.
