UPDATE: I had to put my girl Keri down. I got a preliminary report from the UC Davis necropsy. She had the lesions going back to her throat. She also had a bad chronic infection in her oviduct and in her body. The final report will show if the lesions were canker/trichomonas or wet pox. When I...

Thank you. I put the ACS in her water and in the flock's water as well. I have been removing some of the canker and put her back on regular water. I read that would be painful with the removal of the lesions. I will definitely be doing that for the flock 3 days each month. We have so...
No dry pox, no odor. I've read in studies that neither is a given for each disease. If the Ronsec doesn't work I'll have to let her go. I'm tube feeding her, which she hates, and it doesn't seem fair. We have loads of doves. My avian vet did look under a microscope and it was inconclusive. I...
wow. I'm having some real issues editing this post. Can I get some advice so I can clean it up? Some have the option to edit, others do not. I just want to get rid of one I double posted.
UPDATE: i got in touch with the company that produces Ronsec. The in-house vet says 4 tablets for a 5 lb chicken. Wait 24 hours. 4 more on the third day. That’s it. I’ll be back with the results.

Thank you. Unfortunately I think I’ve read every Ronsec related post on here. And on Facebook. Nothing definitive regarding the tablets. They are coming tomorrow and I’ll just administer what is suggested for pigeons and raptors. I’ll report back to let everyone know how it went. Fingers crossed.
I'm going to try Ronsec for what I believe is a case of canker with a resistance to Metronidazole. If it doesn't work I'll assume it's wet pox. Symptoms are a better match for canker so I want to give Ronsec a try. The tablets are for pigeons/raptors and not necessarily recommended for chickens...
Thank you. I appreciate the info. I did find some compounding pharmacies out of state that do a suspension but apparently there is a law that doesn't allow them to mail that particular drug to California, where I live. Very annoying. I'm still looking for a company in California.
Hello backyard community. I’m wondering if anyone here has heard of a Ronidazole suspension which can be purchased online? And what the dosing might be for a 5lb hen. She is being treated with metronidazole for canker and it is not working. I’m seeing powder and tablets online but I’m not seeing...
Your first sentence hadn’t occurred to me. I tend to doubt it. I have all the materials and picked up the probiotics today. I’m going to start with the enrofloxacin and go from there. Thanks everyone. I always appreciate the advice.
