    what are Silkichins????

Actually, my Silkichins were show silkies from Mexican stock that were crossed with show Giant Cochins--not regular bantams. :) I am the one who started the Silkichin information, and I am working solely on this breed. :) Angie Firestone Creek Farm

Review by '' on item 'Saxony Bantam'

I had this breed and sold hatching eggs from it for several years. However, the coyotes thought they were tasty, and I kept losing hens, so I sold them all. They are a docile and sweet breed. Reminded me of geese in a lot of ways, minus all of the hissing.

Review by '' on item 'Orpington'

I raised these myself--hatched them. They were still too aggressive. One jumped up in my son's face and flogged him when he was doing nothing at all to bother them. It scratched beside of his eye and nose, and it could have easily put his eye out. None of the others offered to do the same, but...

    Favorite backyard mixed chickens?

I started breeding specifically for silkichins almost 5 years ago. I am on 3rd and 4th generation now. I stopped breeding them with the show silkies and show giant cochins, which were the original birds, over 3 years ago. Everything I have now is pure silkichin, and it's the only breed I have. I...

Hi Vortec, I'm thinking about selling all of my Buff Orpingtons. I have 3 that are laying (they are about 14 months old) and I have 10 or so that range in age between 9 weeks to 15 weeks. Interested? Make me an offer? I have one roo that can go with them AND I have one or two that are feather...

Howdy to you, too, and sure you can come visit. You'll have to ignore the chickens running everywhere... haha! I have babies everywhere right now, or it sure feels like it! I breed Nigerian dwarf goats, too, so I have a decent size herd right now--about 15. We are in the process of building...

    Saxony ducks?

I'm selling my Saxony and the eggs the one duck is sitting on, but I'm in NC and I can't ship. A coyote has caught 3 of my saxony ducks and a few of my runners over the past few weeks. I had 4 pair, and now I am down to 4 sax drakes and 1 sax duck. Too bad you don't live closer! The duck that...

I have my Saxony ducks and my indian runner ducks up for grabs. I am going to have to pen them right now, which I hate doing, but I actually SAW the coyote grab a Saxony duck today, and apparently he/she got one of my fawn and white runner ducks last night. Right now I have 5 Saxony--1 duck and...

I'm new here, but I'm in NC, too... in Sanford. I have giant cochins, buff orps, and silkies, plus I have saxony and indian runner ducks. I do some hatching, too, but I mostly sell the eggs for hatching.
