Hello everyone,
I have a hen, Penny, who I thought was egg bound, but I now believe she is not. Her right wing sometimes hangs low, almost like she has something pressing on a nerve, and other times it is normal. She has been laying down a lot yesterday, almost brood like. But she has not laid...
Here are two short links to see Penny. Notice how her wing(s) are low to the ground. Her right wing sometimes hangs so low she trips on it. You will see her flap them, so it doesn't seem like it's injured. Maybe I'm overreacting, I don't know! :). I did feel her abdomen and it does not feel...
Thank you! She has been after her feathers a bit. I'll keep a close eye on her. I'll try to get a good pic of how her wing drops. I felt like maybe she had an egg bound and it was hitting a nerve.
This is an older picture, not a good one. My husband was just trying to get a pic of most of the girls. Penny is the white and black one, she's the one having the issues. Peaches is the cream and black one whom my husband said she may be doing some brooding too.
She doesn't seem to have any injuries or mites. I would think the other chicks would have mites as well and none have them. If she has a disease I don't know how I would know. Another thing she has been doing is her rear feathers all raise and it looks like her vent is puckering.

This is my first time owning chickens. We have 6 chickens and I do not remember what kind they are only that they lay white, blue and olive eggs. I love my girls and interacting with them in their coop. I found out about BYC from a girl in Tractor Supply!!! I was asking her...
