Please help me determine what possible breeds they could be. Then were found off a walking trail in the woods about to be lunch for a hawk. I am quarantining them from my flock for 4 weeks maybe more before introducing them. Thoughts on possible breeds?
I believe them to be close to 2 weeks old...
This chick was sent to me as a “surprise rare breed”. I can’t tell from its markings what it is. I am thinking either an Ameracauna or partridge olive egger. Unless there is something else it could be?
Thank you, they have a run but I let them free range during the day. The silkies were added this time last year from a farm, I noticed they had mites and treated them, I also noticed one had bubbles in her eyes but it went away. None of the others have that symptom. They do not have mites or...
She is 2 years old, my favorite girl. Here’s a little backstory:
I had 6 chickens, then two months ago one of my silkies wasn’t coming out of the run, but was still walking and eating, then I found her dead one day leaned over as if she died in her sleep. Then a month or so after that my buff...
Thank you! I will do just that. I’m nervous because it is currently in quarantine from my flock for the month since it’s a new addition. I wonder if I should push back the quarantine time period since it’s had diarrhea.
Just had diarrhea, eating and drinking normally. Perhaps drinking too much, she drinks more than her silkie friend, and often times her head is wet because she is always drinking water. Any tips or ideas hot to help her? I have put rooster booster in water a few days ago.
Thank you, it is about 2.5 inches long, she is 1 years old and laying the other is 6 months old. I will feel her crop tonight and then in the morning to compare.
This just seemed like a lot of poop for two little silkies. Sorry for the gross picture.
I just got them a week ago from a local farm. They are in quarantine from my flock for the next 3 weeks. I gave them rooster booster for the first time in their water yesterday. Their behaviors are normal...
I am new to owning chickens, ours were born this past April (27 to be exact). So they are fairly young. They all let me hold them, some more happily than others, but only one will lay on me like this, and not for long. I would like to get them to like being held more, or be more friendly and...
