Our chickens would not eat it at first. We bought a bag of straight BOSS and initially we sprinkled it on the ground like we do when we give them scratch for a treat. They ignored it! We found that if we dump it in 2 or 3 larger patches instead of sprinkling it around they would pick at it...
> She simply says she can't turn her mind off.
This happens to me fairly often, and one of the things that causes it is certain foods too close to bedtime. Have your daughter's favorite bedtime snack changed any time recently? I recently realized that eating chocolate mini-wheats cereal for...
On Friends Joey and Chandler had The Chick and The Duck as pets for quite a while.
There are chickens in Firefly episodes several times, can't remember which ones.
There are chickens in MASH, too. The one I remember is in the final episode, when Hawkeye is talking about the lady on the bus with...
Angus was always a pill, even when his name was still Agnes! Which wasn't long, because he started looking like a rooster after only a few weeks. He was always rushing around the brooder and trying to boss the other chicks around. Here's a picture of Anna and Angus when they were chicks. I...
Our hen Anna is very sweet and friendly. She doesn't mind being picked up, and often flies up to the cross bar on the fence to visit when people visit the chicken coop. Angus, the rooster, has been an obnoxious little twerp since he was a chick. And he's aggressive, but since he's so small it...
Hoot is definitely a Quail Antwerp Belgian Bantam. We got two out of the the bantam bin at the feedstore last year, and they looked just like that when they were little. Here's the breed page on Feathersite, with lots of pictures:

We got our saddles over the weekend, and put them on the girls this morning. They're very well made, and easy to put on. Tess made a custom saddle for our Agatha, who has so many feathers picked out that she looks like a roast on legs. Here are Aggie's before and after shots, her saddle fits...
These guys are from the feedstore. Their genders are not in doubt, but what breeds are they?
Arnold is a tiny rooster. 1 week old (with a 2 week old EE in the background):
Arnold at 12 weeks - the buff orpington in the background is the same age:
Angus at 2-3 weeks, Anna at 3-4 days...
I don't know - not to get your hopes up, but here's our rooster Buddy when he was not quite 6 weeks old. Maybe he developed early, but he's way ahead of your neighbor's chicken!
Here's hoping she's just a big boned gal...

We have four roosters who are 21 weeks old, we got them at IFA in June. We have one Buff Orpington, and 3 blue Easter Eggers. They've been handled and are pretty friendly, and we'd like to keep them but we need the room in the coop. We're in Salt Lake City. $8 each, price negotiable for good...
