Eating duck eggs because of chicken egg allergies

savingdogs, get the to a gastroenterologist! Pronto! You have a lot of the symptoms of Celiac Disease. IBS symptoms are identical to Celiac. Celiac can also cause multiple random unrelated food allergies. My 2nd son always had bowel issues. From birth. I thought he was allergic to milk. I...

    Extream weather help now please

I am so not an expert about chickens yet. But I wanted to reply so you know someone is listening. Do you have a garage? can you bring them into there for the night, maybe temporarily? Set up a small space heater for the coop, with extension cords? Put heating pads in the coop, covered in...

    Rabbit had her babies, HELP!

Thanks! I checked the kits around noon, and none of them had really plump tummies. One looked a bit thinner than the other two. Should their tummies look fuller by now? Also, it is in the 90's here. Is that too hot? Should I take the nest inside during the day?

    Rabbit had her babies, HELP!

I bred my Champagne D'argent doe to her buck a month ago, and she had her babies tonight! But two were dead by the time we found out she'd had them. I think she stomped on them in her nest. There are at least three alive right now. Do we need to do anything to make sure no more die? We pulled...

Thanks, everyone. I posted this on the backyard herds forum, too. I figured any advice was welcome! Cassie, she is acting okay so far...I gave her orchard grass hay while milking her. I didn't read your response about water, so hopefully we'll be okay. However, her milk tonight smelled...

My goat ate chicken feed, hard to wake up, help!

I checked on my goat and the wether was baa'ing, but the doe wasn't moving. They are Nigerian Dwarf goats, we've only had them a couple of days. Anyway, normally the doe will baa and come when we are out too. Her head was laying in some chicken feed, I couldn't wake her up at first. I had a...

UPDATE: We lost her!! Animal attack on my hen, what do I do?

Thank you so much for the advice!!! Especially that last article!!! I have put her in an empty rabbit cage we have, and ended up spraying colloidal silver on the wound I could see. And then squirting antibiotic ointment. Later, a piece of feathers came off and I saw that she has more wound...

UPDATE: We lost her!! Animal attack on my hen, what do I do?

UPDATE: We lost her before I could put the swat on her and flush her with betadine. Since I couldn't get to the store the first day, I improvised, and used a mix of hydrogen peroxide and a syringe without a needle, and put antibiotic ointment on. But she stopped eating the second day. Just...

Blood streaked on outside of eggshell

This has never happened before. I have 5 hens, they are less than a year old. This morning, one of them laid an egg that had blood streaked on the outside of it. Is this a sign of a serious problem? Thanks!

Why is my RIR hen smaller than her sister?

I had two for a couple of months while the BR were growing from chick to pullet. So it was just the two RIR's which were much bigger at first than the BR. I should separate the smaller RIR to give her more food I guess. Maybe she is at the bottom.

Why is my RIR hen smaller than her sister?

So does that change when you have three or more? Because the three BR are all exactly the same size so far! Hmmm.....

Why is my RIR hen smaller than her sister?

I did wonder if she was a bantam that the hatchery accidentally mixed with the full-sized RIR. But the coloring is exactly the same on both hens. Who knows?

BR pullets pecking at our feet! Help!

I have small children. My 3 BR pullets (about 18 weeks) are getting too aggressive in their search for a treat. Any tips? They come running every time we step out the back door, expecting a treat. They start pecking at our toes and today they jumped up and knocked a small toy out of my 3...
