My speckled Sussex appears to be sick. I noticed 2 days ago when I went out to feed them that she was acting funny. She seemed cold, keeps ticking on leg up and feathers all fluffed. I have 15 chickens so not sure if she has been laying or pooping. But her waddles and comb are dull red not...
After googling it, I am concluding my rooster is actually a hen... That's so funny this whole time we though she was just a late blooming rooster! Excited to have a little white egg layer in our flock!!
Here is a pick of my other 2 roosters. They are about the same age and I was told they were a hybrid. They are very dominate so I figure the leghorn was just a bit of a late bloomer. I also have a BR roo that is sweet and docile and the same age...
I have all brown egg laying chickens (BO, BR, BA, RIR, Speckeled Sussex, red laces wyandotte,) and 3 Easter eggers... But when I opened my beating boxes I found a white egg!! 4 Browns, a blue, and a white!! So which of my chickens could have produced a white egg??
I bought them as a straigh run pair, hoping for 2 pullets, but of course I ended up with two lovely cockerels instead. I was told they came from a hatchery and were a "blue egger hybrid". I think they are around 12-13 weeks. So what do you think they are??
This pretty girl is 13 weeks old. I though she was definitely a girl, but now her feathering has me a bit confused. But as you can see in the pics, the comb and waddles are very much looking like a pullet. So can anyone say for sure that she is a girl, or is there a chance I have a late...
