That is quite a compliment you received, she is very critical, which explains why her birds are some of the best! Oh, but I see why, your boy is so beautiful!!! I love those hackles! Can’t wait to see him mature!
I hatch a lot of recessive whites from a blue gold over golds. Never had a problem keeping them alive. Perhaps they are pecked by a broody or other hen or ignored and left to die? I do have issues with my girls not accepting white chicks, if hatched themselves or not. The broodys will kill...
Yes
Yes, only shipping eggs, I’m done shipping chicks. I would need another week or two, I had been worming and moving birds around so I need to wait for fertility to be what it should. I’m coastal Virginia.
Wild birds can bring it in, or you can even bring in in on your clothes or shoes from the feed store. Don’t let visitors in your chicken yard. It’s really almost impossible to keep out. Not sure what you ordered, but Denagard is supposed to be very good with no resistance, so good to treat...
This is Picasso, he’s almost 4 years old. He’s such an awesome bird, I swear he know what I say to him, listens like dog lol. I wish I could find some better pics of him, his breast really shows the splash coloring.
Definitely takes more time to get decent tails. They were way too high and not much length at all. I used standard silver and splash golden roosters, but the project would have been better with a silver non molter. They are more slim birds and could possibly produce better feathering I f2-f3
These are the only pics I can find right now, blue fibro pullet with a typical cockerel, and an awful blue cockerel (reminds me of a Mosaic). I never went further than f2. Looking back, a silver birchen Phoenix would have been a better option to use.
