    So then my question would be if you put them in separate pens where they can't see each other would that have the potential to reduce the crowing. Or do they need to be a considerable distance from each other? Or is it a lost cause :)

    QUESTION RE CROWING I have 3 roosters that are penned together where they can see the hens and they are crowing persistently. My question is, if they can't see the hens, ie visually partitioned off, but the hens are still in close proximity, would this have the potential to reduce the crowing...

    More, less or the same when separated? And what's normal?

    I have a group of 14 mature roosters together in a run and then a short distance away I have another mature rooster with 10 cockerels. I am about to split the mature males up into pens with the girls for breeding. At the moment they roosters pretty much crow non stop from 4.30 am to about 3.30...
