Here is a picture of the coop. The openings are not there because I’m only cutting them open as im ready to work on them. I’ll post another when it’s done, likely spring.
It is 8’x4’.
The roof is 1/2” plywood. We chose that because the rafters are 16” on center and the thought of hoisting 3/4” plywood up onto the roof area was unappealing. I really enjoy the building process but I don’t have any training and have learned everything from the internet. And the internet said...
Thank you—I had done a bit of research and this seemed to be the number one approach to remove the sharp nail points. I’m going to move in another direction but will keep it in mind.

I wear an n95 when I clean out the coops because I have asthma. I didn’t used to but the last time I cleaned it out without a mask I coughed for days. My asthma’s gotten worse with the years so I wear the mask anytime I’m working with pine shavings, straw, anything dusty.
What a traumatic experience; I'm so sorry. We've dealt with raccoons and other predators taking our chickens, as do most people who have livestock.
We thought our setup was secure but we had a couple of questionable spots and both were breached. A space under the door to the run and a...
