    Wow! Thank you so much for all the warm welcomes! I tend to be a little hesitant in joining forums...got burned at a homeschool one several years ago. I'm thinking though that it takes a special kind of people to love chickens...not that I'm bragging or anything. Thanks again.

    We were initially told that we picked 3 black sexlinks 2 orpingtons 5 americaunas Now I'm not sure we were told the whole truth. A couple of the "americaunas" started laying last week and they're white eggs. Does it take time for egg pigment to happen...kind of like the small eggs they lay...
