I have copied and pasted a message I received from another reader. These are the instructions I followed. The last egg zipped almost all the way around- about a 1/2 inch area of shell that he could not get to. I removed that portion with tweazers and he stretched out- however, the membrane was...
We ended up with three babies! Had to help the last one out- it was AMAZING! 2 are kind of an orange/red color and the baby is bright yellow. SO CUTE! We are going to be sad to see them go this next week- especially my 5 year old. He is quite attached!
YAY! I decided to help him out of his shell. He WAS stuck in several places. Took about 3 minutes to aid with a little water and tweezers but he is all out and resting nicely in the warm bator. THANKS EVERYONE! Still sad for our other 4 that I don't think are alive.
OK- there was just about a 1/2 inch space that he could not break thru. I got him out and with tweezers took out that part of the shell- he stretched right out and opened an eye!!! I put him back in to see if he can remove himself from the top and bottom of the shell. He is breathing but appears...
2 babies hatched yesterday sometime between 9am and 12:39pm. Another has zipped (I noticed the zip at 3am) but he is still in the shell- peeping sporadically- I can see him breathing but he can't seem to progress. I've placed another wet cloth in to see if that helps. Should I help him get out...
My little peeper inside the shell made a pretty good zip last night but he's still in there- I can see him breathing- what do you think- help out or now? He's been in there so long that what I can see is fluffy...
I am not 100% sure- it pipped from the bottom where it was laying on the bottom of the bator- I did not notice it until the other 2 had hatched out and caused the other eggs to roll around a bit- then I saw it. Sometime between 11pm last night and this afternoon...
OK- I have 4 other eggs- no peeping, no movement. One had a significant pip in the side- should I do what you did and try to see if I can help it out or is it too late???
What do you mean shrink wrapped? Yes- we had it plugged into our truck! So will the soft fluff that is currently stuck to them eventually fluff up or will I have to help?
We took them from his large bator and placed them directly into ours- traveled about 30 minutes to our house- in the bator the whole time. It's not super hard but definately NOT sticky to the touch. Should I try to clean it up for them or is it OK to leave it??
Well- there's part of the problem! We don't know. We got the eggs from a farmer and he did not know the exact date- just that he thought they would hatch "sometime" this week. I can see no movement in 4 of the other eggs. One of the eggs I can hear peeping sporadically- small pip in the egg...
