Pine, Aspen or paper bedding for chicks?

Hello All, I’ve used large pine shavings since 2003 inside my coops. I’ve used them brooders. I have to say, I’ve never lost a chicken to pine shavings and I’ve raised a whole lot of egg laying girls. I’ve watched baby chicks pick up small pieces, maybe thinking it was something to...

    Sick Rooster Not Sick Anymore

Just wanted to thank all that provided me with information that added in the recovery of my Roo named Lucky. He is doing well. Sick Rooster

His appetite still remains very good. I did feed him rice with yogurt and feed crumbles today, I keep crumbles and water close to him,he does eat at will. My wife purchased the baby vitamins you had mentioned but got it with iron so I guess I will return it. Thanks again for your help.

    Sick Rooster

Lucky is only around 8-9 months. He is eating like a horse and drinking fine. He did kinda move around a bit this morning but I'm talking 6 inches from where he was at. His poo is green, is this normal or an indicator of something? Thanks

    Sick Rooster

Great, always good to know what does and does not work. I did have him on a vitamin & electrolyte water solution for the first couple days but backed off, was afraid of complicating any symptoms. Thank you

    Sick Rooster

I did give him a good look over for possible bite from maybe a snake or spider but see nothing. There does not appear to be any injuries plus he sleeps in the coop at night by himself, thank you.

    Sick Rooster

Thank you for your fast response. I'm not familiar with poly vi sol, is this something I can get at a health food store? I read about the use of Hypericum Herb and Vitamin A & E as a cure. For as long as he is attentive, eats and drinks, I plan to do what I can for him. Thanks again .5 mls...
