I think I have a deadbeat chicken
I have 3 Buff Orpington, 3 Australorp and 3 Barred Rock. I'm feeding scratch and layer formula feeds with plenty of free space for the birds with a nice roost and 6 nesting boxes. So I have 9 birds but some days I get 5 eggs and some days 6or7 but never 8...

Well Ive been keeping chickens for eggs now for about a year and its working out great.
I think I would like to try my hand at meat birds.
Ive hunted and have dressed Rabbit, Squirrel and deer, well actually I just killed the deer and had it processed so the butchering wont bother...
Its the economy; Folks would rather pay 1.00 a dozen at the big box store than to have healthy farm raised eggs. Freeze your surplus and let the people that dont know better eat what ever they want.
I've been a tradesman for 35 years and I can tell you that the # 1 rule of tools "You Get What You Pay For" but having said that if I need a tool just once or rarely Harbor Freight tool are fine. I've always had good luck with Milwaukee, Dewalt and Makita for really good tools.

Like most regulations, there will be some exemptions for a while and then they will come for the rest. I think it's about taxes and fees and permits and taxes and paperwork and taxes .
Is there a way to teach chickens to stay out of the flower beds or some kind of a deterrent? I like my chickens to be able to roam but they have got to stay out of my flower beds, garden and carport! I was thinking of an electric fence.

All of the chickens are heavy breeds.
Actually they haven't even arrived yet. Im just now getting coop ready for the chicks once they are big enough to go into the coop.
