    Do they instinctively know when to go into the coop or do you have to train the girls when to go to 'bed'?

    Outside time

    Here in Oklahoma we have had a cold spell, but this week starting around Wednesday the high at night is going to be 52. The daytime temps are going to be in the high 60's to 70's.... They will be locked up in the coop at night...

    We are still bringing them in at night, but I am thinking that we should finish up the predator proofing the chicken run in the next couple of weeks. Do you think they would be alright outside full time in a couple of weeks?

    If you were going to plant grass in your chicken run what type of grass would you plant? I know I have read that some people use sand for the runs but what other materials can you use? Also do any of you grow herbs for you chickens? Look for any other chicken run ideas.. show pics if you...
