    hen, nesting all the time, not laying any eggs

    Hello, We have 7 Buff Orps and one of them just sits on the nest all day & nite, we take her off in the AM and make go outside but she ends up back inside and does the same thing, No eggs and the other B.O's are pecking her once in a while ?? Any ideas, They were all raised together from 3 days...

    We live in Central MO. and winter cold is dry here so I am not too worried, because we are getting Buff Orpies in the spring so they should do fine

    As we are new to raising chicks we are starting with 6 Buff Orps and this would be a Fine way to get them ready for the coop we have

    Thank You, we have not had chickens since we were kids, Long before we met, but we are happily retired and looking forward to having fun with our cats AND chickens LOL !!

    Can anyone tell me what kind of HAWK this is?

    The picture is fuzzy but I think it is either a "Sharp Shinned hawk or a Swainsons hawk We have a lot of them here in MO. but mostly large Red Tailed hawks

    We are getting Buff Orpington chicks next spring and my wife will raise them as pets until they go into the coop for eggs !!!!
