    Rooster Making a Sqeaking/Hiccup Noise

There is no rhyme or reason why he does it. He does it when he gets excited, after he runs in the yard, after he eats. As a preventative measure I have added Vet RX to the water, just in case it is a cold. No other chickens has this hiccup/squeak. I have heard other chicken squeak to clear their...

HELP !!!! I have 1 Guinea that will not stop Screaming

I am going through the same thong right now with my four. My kids are begging me to let them "go and be free". This weekend they will be relocating to their new digs and hopefully they will chill a little. They are loud little buggers aren't they!!!!

    Rooster Making a Sqeaking/Hiccup Noise

I have a RIR rooster 16 weeks old, he does not crow and seems very healthy (eats well, normal poop, very friendly). He continually makes this squeak/hiccup sound. He has no nasal drainage, eyes are bright and clear, he is just making this weird noise. Is it something like a cold or is it...

They are adorable!!! Good luck with the dehydrated and stressed ones. GroGel is great stuff, mix a little honey or sugar in their water and hopefully they will perk right up. Keep us posted on your flock.

    Sad sad day for me

Sending hugs . You did the right thing. Animals look to us humans to take care of us and make sure they don't suffer. It does not make it easier, as for the kids, they will understand one day too.

Baby Chicks Arriving in 12 hours (hopefully)...

Congrats, we also got chicks this weekend from McMurray (hatch Friday too). All arrived healthy and full of energy. We were able to pick up our little fluff balls yesterday because the main distribution center called. It was worth the 45 mile drive. Not sure I will order from them again because...

    New Chicks are here!!!

Thanks everyone, day two and they are all still doing well. None of the bigger birds have ended up in time out. I can watch these little ones for hours, 28 very different personalities and boy do they have the energy. I get exhausted just watching them. Can't wait until next spring when hubby...

    3 day old bully. HELP!

If you return the chick, they will probably have no choice but to cull it. We have had a couple brats that seem to be more aggressive than the others, but once we started to give them some extra TLC and cuddle time, they have seemed to chill. I would try to handle and soothe the little rascal...

    city water for Baby chicks?

I have been using filtered water from my fridge for our chicks, we have city water too. Our cats drink the unfiltered city water and they are just fine. If you are concerned about too much chlorine and don't have a water dispenser on your fridge I might suggest a water distiller. It may cost a...

    New Chicks are here!!!

Our baby chicks hatched and shipped yesterday. We were so worried about the weekend shipping and not getting them until Monday. Our main hub in Topeka called to see if we could pick them up today and drove the 45 miles to get them. All were alive and well . Happy, healthy and very noisy...

    Help Identifying Mystery Chicks

I got them from Ideal they were the packing peanuts. My friend says they just toss them in for warmth, not sexing them just the extras they have, she is very versed in chickens and she is at a loss for what type they are. I guess I will just have to be patient. Ideal did have the Production Reds...
