Hi I have 2 Australorp and RIRs...The RIR were 3 weeks old; the Australorps 3 days old when I got them.
Now the Australorp are bigger, with one that is very big.
Problem I have is that only 2 of them lay...the big bully Australorp and one RIR.

You can also nail a plywood board across or use fence boards . I'm building my coop and considering that for the run closest to the coop, so that they have more shaded place besides just under the coop house.
