    We have an older now deaf dog. Once she's passes, we will be looking for some flock protection.

    They were free ranging when they were attacked. Our run and coop are pretty secure. It my fault. I let them out in the morning and forgot to lock them up before I took the kids to storytime. We came home to the results. I will definitely be more careful.

    Thanks for the advice everyone. I managed to find some pullets on my walk today. There is a man around the corner who has chickens and was willing to sell me 5. He called them rainbow chickens, as he has a variety of hens and roos. It'll be interesting to see what color eggs they lay because...

    So now I have to find someone who has pullets. I have a few friends who might. I feel so bad for her.

    A predator, a fox has been seen in the neighborhood, got in my yard and killed all but one of my flock of 5. The remaining lady is a buff orphington. We'd like to have a flock. If we get some pullets, will she accept them? Is it okay to wait, or should we get them now?

    He told me they'd lay olive green eggs, could they lay blue eggs. Could he really know? I'm hoping for a mix of green and blue.

    They white one is really pretty. My daughter named her Pinkie and is telling everyone she will lay pink eggs. Maybe she's right.

    Her legs are kind of green. Here's a better face pic. Also, I have 4 girls that are brown/red like the one in the second picture. They are supposed to be Easter eggers. I didn't realize they could come in so many colors.
