    This is BO #2, different tail feathers but same size and age. We wanted 12 layers but now I think we have at least one roo, maybe two?!

    Lol figures! Mine readily hop out of the brooder anytime I have the top off.especially at cleaning time, which is daily cuz they've overstayed they're welcome in it!

    Oh so they only need to be in the brooder inside the coop when they're younger? Will they be ok when the temps randomly drop to 43 at night and day temps only hit 60? The spring weather here has been so crazy! We insulated the whole coop to help with that.

    They're 8 & 9weeks old. DH promised the coop would be ready 2 weeks ago, and has sworn tomorrow is that day. I told him I would regime them if it's not done tomorrow cuz they've outgrown the brooder and it's cruel to keep them like that. They're fully feathered and the low temps are 45-50 these...

    Ok so I know to put the brooder in the coop, but do I leave the top on the brooder or No?
