    Eggs?

You might try the granite grit? Not sure if that'll help but since they don't like the oyster shells it might be worth a try on that. All hens are different but mine love cooked oatmeal with a "hen safe" fruit added. They just go nuts, plus the benefit of cooking the oatmeal is it somehow has...

    Not Laying eggs

It sometimes takes their little systems a while to get the hang of it so i wouldn't be too worried right now about the shell. Sometimes they are stubborn layers or just need a few extra vitamins or calcium.

    Eggs?

Well it takes a little while for their bodies to get the hang of it, at first they will skip a few random days off and on for a little bit but then they regulate and you know about how many to expect from the hen a week. Also their eggs can be soft at first, but don't worry you see to be doing...

    2 Americauna chicks?

Omg give it a rest, I said my peace and leave it at that, I mentioned that my other roo is black and looked like the pic. Did I ever say I was going to breed him and label his chicks as ameraucanas and sell them? I'm not freaking stupid and never once said I was going to do this and it's idiotic...

    2 Americauna chicks?

Lol well I don't need to prove anything! It's not like I'm going to breed him either way. That pic looks exactly like my other roo but they both look black to me? Oh well there will always be a debate, all I'm doing is going to mix and breed my male who looks like that pic with my cuckoo maran...

    Washing eggs

I have a soft dry cloth and wipe them down lightly. Before I use them I'll give them a little rinse in warm water, I read somewhere on here that if you rinse in warm or really hot water that the yolk and white expand pushing any bacteria out. Sounds about right but who knows?

    Eggs?

Oh yeah it is! I check mine about three times a day and have watched one lay an egg when I went out and got it as soon as she walked away, they don't really care so much. Lol!!

    rat snakes

The bad thing is snakes have a great sense of direction, you might not want to kill them but it may be your only option. If you do decide on that route, put a bunch of golf balls on the ground around where you think they are. Snakes will eat them thinking they are eggs but they can't digest them...

Confession: I am addicted to chickens!

Me too!! I want some silkies like you have, but the husband wants to wait until spring :( it's just so hard to wait!! I would love a Phoenix but they can be so pricey, ah one day! Lol!! Maybe I can talk my husbands friend who breeds Phoenix's to give me one on a friend discount? I can only dream...

Loving my girls colorful eggs! When should I expect consistent numbers?

Oh so pretty! I just got my first blue today and was so happy. It really just depends, it takes anywhere from 23-26 hours for a hen to lay the next egg (thoughts are varied on the times) but if they are new layers then it'll take a while for them to lay regularly. My maran laid two eggs took a...
