    Thanks for all the info! One question- did you keep your chicken indoors the whole time you were treating her or did you let her outside in a separate pen during the day?

    So glad to have found this thread! My RIR has a very distended crop. I have drained quite a bit of fluid from it by holding her upside down and massaging her crop. There still feels to be some hard matter so I'm going to keep her inside and try to get things figured out. Right now she's in a box...

    ugh! I started trying to find a good home for him today after the responses to this post started rolling in. If we were out in the country I'd totally keep him but our neighbors are just too close to our backyard for a crowing rooster : (
