The white rooster hasn’t been used until this pairing. His mother has & I know she’s made more like herself, but she’s in a pen with 2 other hens (one splash & one blue) under a blue rooster, so I don’t know for sure what else she’s produced because eggs could be coming any of the 3 hens. Rooster is splash & apparently silver. Hens are gold laced. I’ll have to get pictures but some chicks are whitish yellow & some are blue as expected.

Wow thanks! That’s kinda overwhelming but I think it’s doable. I have Splash hens & a rooster. Now why is it that in the original pairing I want a Laced over splashed hens vs a splash over Laced hens? I know with chickens sometimes that matters, I just don’t always know when.

So after trying 2 batches of eggs, nothing hatched. So I’m going to give up & try a different route. I think I can get some Golden Laced chicks. I’m going to breed any of those hens to my Splash rooster. I know I’ll get blues to start & I know that the lacing genetics are weird. I’m assuming...

There were some technical difficulties but I got it figured out & was able to place an order that didn’t involve $100 shipping lol It was ForkedFarms.

I had a place I was going to order from but shipping was +$100 so that’s out..... If anyone knows where to buy some eggs, that’d be awesome. I do have splash Orpingtons though. What would I need mate-wise to “create” one?

Ooooook so this is the same splash as blue/black/splash & I’m looking at a White (splash) bird with gold lacing? That makes sense now lol! Is lace like mottled? For instance GL splash with blue= 50% blue 50% splash all with no lace but they would carry lace?
